In celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, I created a portrait of the young Elizabeth. The bright and dark tones in the garden symbolize the equally joyous and somber times of her reign. I am always struck by images of her as a young sovereign and the life that lay ahead of her. She remains a remarkable woman, devoted, steadfast and strong.
